Software Engineering Manager

SUMMARY:
As our Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading highly motivated front-line engineers who design, develop, implement, and support customer-facing applications as well as contributing to the applications. You will need to be comfortable learning innovative technologies quickly and helping the team become comfortable working with them.

MUST HAVES:

• Azure DevOps
• Mobile development (android preferred OR iOS)
• Razor
• JAVA
• C/C++/C#

NICE TO HAVE:

• Pages/Blazor pages

DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages the software engineering team that design and build solutions across multiple technology products; ensures the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions.
• Empower team of high performing engineers and engineering managers who are deeply passionate about building quality software products.
• Ensure applications are designed and constructed using solid engineering patterns.
• Encourage innovation and diversity of thought to solve complex business problems.
• Remove impediments to achieving quality standards, project deadlines and business objectives.
• Willing and able to jump in and solve technical problems when needed.
• Mentoring and managing engineers, participating in code and architecture reviews
• Using analytics and data to drive decisions and improve the efficiency and performance of our platform.
• Optimizing and troubleshooting the platform's performance
• Working closely with our CTO and other members of the leadership team

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 5+ years of experience working in a similar industry or professional software development environment.
• 2+ years’ experience in a leadership position within the team
• Proven experience managing and mentoring other software engineers.
• Prior experience with embedded systems is preferred.
• Fluency in C# is required.
• Fluency in C++, C, python is preferred.
• Passion for development, architecture, and system design
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Great judgment for balancing features, quality, time, and performance
